The 2014 Subaru Crosstrek XV Hybrid is a Step Closer to Seeing American Showrooms
The 2014 Subaru Crosstrek XV Hybrid is nearly here. Subaru is often noted as attracting earth loving enthusiast from all walks of life. Although the current Subaru lineup has well balanced vehicles, a hybrid option has simply not existed, until the introduction of the 2014 Crosstrek XV Hybrid. The Subaru 2014 Crosstrek XV Hybrid, which first debuted at the New York Auto Show, has now landed on showroom floors in Japan. Although the2014 Crosstrek XV Hybrid is currently only available in Japan, it is a sign that those awaiting the hybrid stateside will see it within a year.
The Crosstrek XV Hybrid will still be equipped with all of the Subaru essentials that enthusiast have come to love. A 2.0 liter 4 cylinder DOHC Boxer engine, gasoline powered, will be standard along with an electric motor putting out 13.4 horsepower. The hybrid will also maintain the Symmetrical All Wheel Drive system that Subaru is known for. Note, that weather the Crosstrek be powered by the electric motor or the gasoline Boxer, torque will be powering all four wheels, all of the time. While the transmission was designed specifically for this hybrid, it is based off of the current CVT found in many Subaru vehicles.
So what kind of gas mileage can you expect from this hybrid? Subaru expects to improve the numbers from the gas version and some estimates have the numbers as high as 45 MPG! Keep your eyes out for this fuel sipping Crosstrek at Tacoma Subaru, as it will surely take you on any adventure, without leaving your broke at the pump.
