Back to School - Maintenance Time

It is Back to School season, and that means everybody is going to be just a bit busier.  With the lazy days of summer....if you call driving kids to summer camp, play dates, vacations, road trips to the beach and grandma's lazy.....coming to an end, and back to school is just around the corner, it is easy to forget your constant companion;  your car.  After all, it has started almost every time you have needed, and been there to get the kids to the beach, and your teenager has driven all over the county to every lake and BBQ without a hitch, why should you give it any thought now?

Well, now is more critical than ever.  With the hot weather, road trips, sand, and probably more than a few over loaded trips to the fun in the sun, it needs a pick me up too.  That is, if you want it to continue to be that reliable variable in your often crazy schedule.

Whether it is just about getting the kids to scouts and piano lesson, or your teen off to college, the maintenance on your car is one of the most important things on your To Do list.

Is your car due for an oil change?  Maybe it is due for a major repair....now is the best time to get it taken care of. Before there is a problem.

Read your owner's manual, see what is due, pick up the phone, wake up the computer, or use your smart phone and schedule an appointment.  Not sure what is due?  or if you need any maintenance at all?  Make an appointment for a Multi-Point inspection.  Let us check it out.  The certified Service Advisors at any Bruce Titus Automotive Service Department, will gladly go through the maintenance needs of your car in a clear and easy to understand manner.  There is normally a $19.95 fee, however, through the month of August, to help you get prepared for Back to School, this service is being offered at no charge.  This is not a diagnosis, so if you have a check engine light or problem, that is another thing all together.

For a Multi-Point inspection, we are going to check all of the vital parts of your car for wear.  We are going to check the tires, make sure that they are wearing evenly and have enough tread to provide maximum traction.  We are going to check for missing rubber, nails and other foreign objects.  We are going to check your battery, make sure that it is working at optimum standards.  They are going to check your brakes, make sure that you have ample pads, we have found that stopping is a critical piece to driving.  In addition, we will check your fluids, your belts, and other areas that we know can sneak up on you.

We get accustomed to just hopping in our vehicles and heading down the road.  What happens when it doesn't work.  What happens when our teens or young adults are 100's if not 1000's of miles away at college and their car doesn't work.  While obviously things can happen, even with the best of maintenance, it does lesson the odds of an incident.  Personally, I feel bit better knowing that I was able to take my vehicle to a team I can trust, that we have identified any problems and handled them why they were small, knowing that my college student can focus on studies and not car repair.

If you check out our specials page, you will find some incredible deals on services that you may need right now.

We wish everyone a safe end to their Summer Vacation and a Happy Back to School!  Drive careful, and remember to keep your eyes out for the little ones heading back to school.
