Hope Instillers
The Hope Instillers is a group of Bruce Titus Automotive Group Employees committed to finding a cure for Blood Cancers. They are a registered team with the Light the Night Walk for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This year's walk is scheduled for September 22.
This mission is personal.
Since the team's inception they have been among the top 5 earners at the event, and last year they were number 2. This year, they want to be NUMBER 1! How can you help? It is really quite easy. You can stop by any Bruce Titus location: Tacoma Subaru, Eastside Subaru, Port Orchard Ford, Olympia Chrysler Jeep, Olympia Mitsubishi, Olympia Nissan or the Corporate Offices and drop some change or dollars in the can. You can buy a Balloon and let everyone know you helped, or honor someone that has been lost to cancer or is fighting now.
You can visit the Hope Instillers this weekend at the Steilacoom Community Yard Sale.
You can go to their fundraising link and donate directly: http://pages.lightthenight.org/wa/Tacoma12/ReneeMW
You can even join the The Hope Instillers team and walk with them. You decide.
Please know that change and $1's add up. One of the sweetest donations was at an event when a young girl asked her mom if she could give her money to the cancer kids. Her mom asked her how much money she had, and she reached into her duck purse and pulled out about 45 cents in pennies and nickels. Mom: "Where did you get all that money" Girl:" people just leave it laying around"
Her mom then informed her, that it was her money and she could do with it as she pleased, but did gently remind her that once she gave it, she could not get it back (she was about 4), she smiled and said: "I know". She dropped her money in the jar waved good bye and was on to other things. That $.45 is $.45 we didn't have before, and if purity of intent is value, it was worth a million.
An individual can make a difference, a group of individuals can make a huge difference:
pennies are fairly worthless until they are put with other pennies. pennies turn to nickels, nickels turn to dimes and dimes turn to dollars.
Thank you for taking the time read this blog, if you have ever dropped your change or donated a $1 to any organization in need: Thank you! Know that it matters and is appreciated.
We hope to see you at the Yard Sale in Steilacoom. If not, perhaps you can join the Hope Instillers for dinner on August 14th at Moctezuma's on 56th St in Tacoma between 5-9 pm. Bring the Hope Instillers Flyer (which can be found at the Tacoma Store Cashier or on Facebook) and 20% of your bill (less alchohol) will go directly to the Hope Instillers.
We are blessed to live and work in this community. Thank you for being a part of it.
